A frosty atmosphere

Match report by Emily Simpson

After a long drive to Yateley, we nearly lost a few of our smaller players (Donna) in the potholes on the way to the clubhouse. Once we got our team together, we began our warm up with a team plank. Lou decided to plank on top of Emily. The weather was cold and blustery much like the atmosphere. The game began with a positive attitude from us as and ever we started well, our passing around the back was amazing going from Charlie to Megs and then onto Gemma L.
With our strong passing and the young legs of Daisy and Beth, we made lots of progress up into Yateley's half of the pitch. Yateley broke and made a dashing run into the D and with some fast passing a nudging they scored a terrific goal. We started again and repositioned ourselves, Yateley began well, but our Captain and illustrious leader Rachel, got in a great tackle and passed the ball to Gaia who passed to Donna (little legs). Donna passed to Izzi, but Yateley got a stick in and got the ball back and made a dash into our D, the defence stayed strong, and the mighty Megs got the ball out for a 16 or so we thought. While we sorted ourselves out, in a very stealthy manner Yateley, took the ball and smashed it towards goal as Emily (Batman) was turning around the ball went in... much to our surprise this was given. We fought on after realising this was going to be one of those games we started to play a bit faster, Charlie Dowell hit the ball off the back and Yateley got a short. With a very well worked short they popped in another goal. We stayed strong working around the back with Charlie Dowell, Mighty Megs, Gemma L and Lady Higgins, forming a solid back line. Once we got the ball across to our very own pocket rocket (Georgia) who made a run down the line showing off some of her impressive moves. The half ended 4-0 but with lots of positives for us.

The second half began, and our younger players continued to put in some impressive runs through the centre with Daisy taking on some of the Yateley midfield and making a great pass to Lou (Loopy) on the wing. Yateley keep coming, and Emily made some saves and Lou did some tactical tripping, but with Yateley jumping in and hacking at the ball they won a short. The dream team entered the goal to defend which we did, but with a tactical game of hit the feet being played we were always fighting a losing battle Yateley won a flick. Emily stepped and saved it whoop whoop. With Yateley pressing, Rachel, our illustrious leader, put her body on the line, more specifically her boobs, yet another short came our way. The day ending with a 7-0 loss but with some many positives to take away. Our young players were amazing, and as a team, we are fighting but progressing every week.
321s’ winner Emily
2nd Rachel
3rd Charlie
DOD Gemma L for the own goal.
