Good evening all,
What a great match today and a great turnout from the spectators for the first official Hampshire League game for GU12. I think this is fist time since I have been part of the club that we have full GU12 - what a fantastic achievement.
Weather decided to play ball and we mostly played a dry game. Great fast start to the game and within minutes we were 1-0. That is about all I can remember of the goal sequence but the girls (all 12 of them including all the new members) did fantastic. In the end a 4-2 win (2 goals for Isobel, one for Lotte and one for Eve. All very good goals and coming about from good passing.
I think all the training that Mike Higgins and Mark Short are organaizing for both BU12 and GU12 is really starting to bear fruit. They might all dislike the shuttle runs at training but the focus we have on it now makes sure we have a fitter team and for me the difference is clearly visible.
Man of the match (MOM) was awarded by the other team and it went to Olivia who played really well on midfield. But all over the pitch we had stars (12 of them) - but special mention to both Lara's and Holly - first official match and played in different positions but their workrate was fantastic.
Our team chose Andover Goalkeeper as MOM - very well deservered seeing she was only 9 years old!
Thanks to Allan for umpiring and of course the sponsor (Ocean King Fish and Chips)
