All,

I just got home and looked at the table before today's results (none are entered yet) and actually Havant is top of the league. I think they got a shock last week in the friendly - unfortunately we went the other way and did not get out of the starting blocks at all. But losing against top of league by only a 2 goal margin is not bad. Having said that, we probably are a better team - as in we can play better than we did today. And we only lost first 20 minutes (it was 0-0 for remaining 40 minutes)!

Not sure if it is late push back (we also lost to Salisbury one late afternoon) - or maybe we were too confident based on last week's result.

Remember very first game we played against the boys? I told my Maja to mark Elliott - he is their danger man. Havant did the same to us today - they marked Eve and Isobel. I tried to switch a bit in second 20 minutes but it just felt the girls did not have the legs today. Somehow we just could not get our positioning right and gap between defense and midfield was too big. We struggled to get ball out of defense. And of course last 20 minutes we played with only 10.

Make sure your daughters keep their heads up and keep a smile on their face. I realize this was a hard defeat!

They did not give up and we just could not find that 1 goal that might have pushed us on for the draw. We are improving. I think both Lara's upfront today really did well and get engaged in the game.

Again - heads up - next game is 10am push back - surely a win must be on the cards. We live and learn from wins and defeats - we all prefer the former.
