Haslemere Minifest

'First minifest of the year today with a slight change by Haslemere to teams playing with 8 players versus last year 7.
Luckily the Gosport under 8’s had 9 players turn up for an early 9:15am arrival and 9:30 prompt start.
We started with 3 games back to back, Gosport started by playing our old local rivals, Fareham first, and came away with a fantastic start and a 2-1 win. Then straight onto Havant and another win 6-1, and then Haslemere B for the last of our first set of games, another 5-0 win meant a very motivated team at the almost halfway point. A tougher Haslemere A team next but another 3-0 win for Gosport.
Last 3 games were all back to back playing City of Portsmouth 2, City of Portsmouth 1 and finishing with Petersfield.
COP2 were strong but we still managed a great 2-0 win, then onto COP1 for our first draw of the day 1-1. We finished the day with winning against Petersfield 1-0.
A fantastic day seeing Gosport under 8’s finishing in 1st place with Fareham in 2nd.
A great team result with everyone playing brilliantly and working hard.

'Add in the kids results, u8's undefeated in their mini tournament 6 wins 1 draw, top of the group, u10 undefeated in their mini tournament 4 wins!. Great hockey played by a talented bunch, and a number of Hampshire Coaches casting a envious eye over some very good hockey being played. Well done to all.'
